KDE is a powerful Open Source graphical desktop environment for Unix workstations. It combines ease of use, contemporary functionality, and outstanding graphical design with the technological superiority of the Unix operating system The KDE-PIM applications help you to organize your mail, addresses, todo's, appointments, and so on. Beyond this, it allows you to let your computer communicate with your mobile phone and pda. It has features such as support for IMAP, POP3, multiple accounts, powerful filters, PGP/GnuPG privacy, inline attachments, and much more. KOrganizer provides management of events and tasks, alarm notification, web export, network transparent handling of data, group scheduling, import and export of calendar files and more. It lets you view, insert, remove, or modify calendar events by way of the command line or from a scripting language. Additionally, KonsoleKalendar can export a KDE calendar to a variety of other formats. It is useful for tracking hours to be billed to different clients or just to find out what percentage of your day is spent playing Doom or reading Slashdot. The messages pop up on the screen, or the commands execute, at the time you specify.
