Palmisano detailed the companys successes in innovation, on demand and other areas. The two entities have formed IBM-Stanford Spintronic Science and Applications Center (SpinAps, for short). The new system is far superior to analog recording and promises to save about $50,000 in supply, labor and management costs. The UNEX project will involve sending more than 500,000 letters among 36 countries. Many of the test letters will contain radio frequency identification (RFID) devices to automate tracking and help identify postal bottlenecks.
