3/15 What's the best way to study for CS Subject GRE? Thanks.
        \_ Take CS61ABC, CS162, CS164, CS170, CS...
\_ Yeah right. Like those teach you anything practical.
\_ What are you talking about? I solve NP-complete
                      problems all the time.
\_ The issue is not practicality. The issue is prepping
                      for the GRE.
\_ Almost none of which is the theoretical crap you get
                         from Berkeley CS.
\_ take lotsa practice tests, review your 172/164 material, and
know enough 150 to build a shift-adder - paolo (who took the GRE
           recently)
\_ last i recall, CS GRE isn't required for many graduate programs.
but hey, doing well can look good on a resume too!
\_ a lot of the top programs seem to require it.

12/20 Question to people in industry: I'm a transfer student, which
means I can take an extra semester to graduate. I will have met
all the requirements to graduate in May, but already have an
internship lined up for the summer and was planning to use the
semester afterward to take some courses I haven't had a chance
to yet (graphics, distributed systems (if they add the course),

2/8 Why does UC suck so hard? I did undergrad at UCB and I hated it.
Professors couldn't teach, class workload was high, and the system
was designed to "weed out" students and demoralize them rather
than teach and encourage them. I always got lower grades than I
deserved for the amount of work I put in. I don't know if this was
because of the curve which insists that 50% of students should get
