2012/11/7-12/18 [Computer/SW/Languages] UID:54526 Activity:nil | 11/7 If I don't need to print for a few months, do I need to keep adding
new ink to inkjet printers to prevent them from drying and clogging
heads? Or will it just magically work once I add in new ink
in a few months?
\_ The nozzles will clog. Print a test sheet every couple weeks.
Or remove the cartridges and put cellophane tape over the nozzles,

2010/8/29-9/30 [Consumer/Camera, Computer/SW/Languages] UID:53939 Activity:nil | 8/28 Hi, anybody printed a photo image to a big plotter? Something like
36"x36"? I'm wondering how many megapixels the image need to
have in order for the print to "look good". There is a rule of
thumb? Like 6 megapixel is good for X size print. 10 megapixel
is good for Y size print. Thanks.
\_ You don't need that many more megapixels for much bigger prints,

2007/4/13-16 [Computer/SW/WWW/Browsers] UID:46291 Activity:nil | 4/13 I use IE7 to browse a web site, and the server says the UserAgent

"UserAgent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.2; .NET
CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30)"
Is MS bowing to the Mozilla community?

2005/6/27-28 [Computer/SW/OS/OsX] UID:38329 Activity:kinda low | 6/27 For anyone who's owned a G5 running OS X (10.3 or 10.4), how often do
you need to reboot if it's being used as a workstation?
\_ Occasionally you will run into the Windows NT syndrome of the system
needing a reboot for a system software patch - I'd say about once
every couple of months on a stable release, and once or twice a
month on a new one. Other than that, I have never seen a piece of

"Continuing security problems have eroded Internet Explorer's

word. So are there any labs remaining in Soda or Cory with unix
machines, or are they all NT now?
\_ 2 labs of solaris sparc (sunray), 1 dying lab of solaris x86 ppro.

there're the DECs in 199 Cory.

2001/5/17 [Computer/SW/WWW/Browsers] UID:21295 Activity:high | 5/16 How is Netscape 6.01 compared to 4.76? Is it really more stable,
faster, and requires less RAM/disk space? I'm trying to see which
one to download, and I think such radical re-design as in 4.76->6.0
always means tons of bugs. Thx.

1999/11/15-16 [Computer/SW/WWW/Browsers] UID:16885 Activity:high | 11/14 For me, on average, Netscape Mail on NT crashes once every week.
It also crashes the browser. I've switched to IE and I gotta say...
it's quite stable. Fuck Netscape. They keep blaming their stupid
software on MS secret API. Why can't they just admit that they
have a friggin big ass slow bloatware.

1998/7/6-7 [Computer/HW, Computer/SW/OS/Windows] UID:14290 Activity:very high | 7/6 Yes I did a stupid thing-- installing Active Desktop just to see what it
looks like. Now, how do I uninstall it? Please don't post anything like
"format, install a real OS" or "install NT again". Thanks.
\_ I think that formatting and re-installing Windows is your
best bet. Active Desktop leaves a lot of crap lying around
and makes your computer much slower, even if it is uninstalled.
