ad trackers on a web site, resulting in really fast load times.
For example, a typical media site will require 10-15 trackers
(you know, those URLs that track your activities so they can
target you better). Ghostery kills them.

old? I am investigating making a big SSD order. -ausman
\_ how much performance gain are you expecting from using SSD?
Let's say your 7200RPM yields 70 MB/sec (sustained) read and
your new SSD yields 160 MB/sec read, and that your application
is mostly streaming media (so the platter is continuous read,

2005/6/13-15 [Computer/SW/OS/Windows] UID:38111 Activity:nil | 6/13 What is the cheapest way to get 3 or 4 arguably legal
copies of winXP, preferable with SP2 ? Also, how much
do extra terminal licenses cost? tnx.
\_ OEM licenses are cheaper but you can't move them to a different
machine once you activate it. (OEM licenses are what you get when
you buy a new Dell, etc.)

\_ cpu/memory? That's the basis of your OS decision? ME is a flaming
pile of goose dung. Use 2k. There was never a reason for ME to
ship except maybe MS's bottom line.

running Excel and checking her Outlook mail in a browser over a

2003/2/6-7 [Computer/SW/OS/Windows] UID:27326 Activity:kinda low | 2/6 Can somebody tell me about installing/upgrading to WinXP?
I deal with MS as little as possible but it's for a friend who
refuses any alternative. There are 2 computers, both w/ Win98.
I want to do a clean install on both-- will XP let me use
any old Win98 product key to install, and will it let me reformat
beforehand? I'm not sure he has his old keys. Thanks

It's not a trivial thing for a consumer to use, so it's not
in MS Help. God forbid consumers muck around in c:\windows\.
