The common denominator is a leadership that speaks to the ID of the citizenship, with promises of continued glory for Rome with German military superiority to implement world domination and control to offset any dynamics to dilute what already has been achieved and in hand. This is the only truth that can account for your own complacency and the poll numbers that inexplicably support President Bush far more than the facts otherwise would suggest. It is the same type of dynamic that accounts for the popularity of shows such as the Sopranos: the deep regard of the common man for those who know how to wield power to take what they want and all the better if the crumbs continue to fall their way than to lose what he has become accustomed to living in a country once legitimately holding global respect and prestige. When recently in the District, a teacher from the CIA addressing a class of future terrorism experts asked them why the quagmire in winning the hearts and souls of the Iraqi people. After listening to each premier student offer his and her opinion, we pointed out to the class that while we were pursuing a war against terrorism, the Iraqi people perceived it as a war to change and alter their historic culture. You can't win the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people when the truth of the agenda is to spade their historic culture. The difference here from Rome and Germany is that the Bush administration policy seeks to have the same consequence for the Middle East nations as for Israel under the influence of Bush 41. Despite all the promises and projections, its decline is evident and manifest. Now, we face countries in the Middle East that this administration likes to characterize as behind the technological times. Thus, democracy from the Bush administration is to move from praying to playing with the rest of the world. While Israel was amenable due to a leadership that was willing to fall under the influence of these policies to changing its biblical culture, Iraq and other Middle East countries are not. For the USA, if the Congress allows the Bush cabal to pursue its quest for national treasures of the Middle East and as part and parcel thereof use the military as it has been doing to coerce a change in its culture, the consequences will be dramatic.
