4/1 I subscribe to an audio service that just started providing downloads
for the audio. I'd like to download several files (URL easily
generated algorithmically), but I have to authenticate through a form.
Anyone have an example of how to easily use curl to enter a form and
save cookies so that it can download these files?
        \_ once: curl -c cookies.txt '<DEAD>.../?user=...&pass=<DEAD>
           many: curl -c cookies.txt -O http://path/to/file
           --dbushong
\_ Consider this your lucky day (you do use firefox, right?):
           http://www.bengoodger.com/software/tabloader
You just set the extensions of the files you want to autodownload,
then hit ctrl-shift-s (the latter bit is not mentioned prominently,
           so I'll repeat it: Ctrl-Shift-S).

5/18 On my Win7 machine, I've been using a PuTTY ssh session to soda as a
proxy for my FireFox to bypass my company's OpenDNS when I visit
http://tv.yahoo.com and so on. It has been working fine for a long while.
However, in the past couple weeks or so, my FireFox would either take
several minutes to load the page, or failes to load it after several
minutes. I haven't changed any settings on my Win7 machine. Rebooting

4/19 My Firefox 3.6.28 pops up a Software Update box that reads "Your
version of Firefox will soon be vulnerable to online attacks." Are
they planning to turn off some security feature in my version of
        Firefox?
\_ Not as such, no, but they're no longer developing this version,
so if a 3.6.x-targeted hack shows up, you're not going to get

2/5 How is Firefox on version 10, while I still have 3.6 installed.
I wait for the X.1 versions and they never come out.
\_ I'm also on 3.6.26. It claims that versions 4 - 10 are all faster
than 3.6.x, but do they use more memory? Thx.
\_ Newer Firefox versions use less memory too:

9/13 Blah blah android blah, ok other than the bootjack stomp of the
phone marketing crap of this, does anyone know where to find the old
Android TCL scripting framework that was used for automating
and controlling desktop apps (like mozilla for example). Thx.

2/18 Why is there now Firefox 3.5.8 when there was already 3.6 a month ago?
\_ Why is there Windows XP SP3 when there was already Vista?
Generally companies manage patches for at least two levels of
           product. -tom
\_ I see. So Fx 3.6 is more like a new version than an update to

2/5 I like Adobe Flash. When written correctly, it scales along
with your browser size. It looks consistent on every single
browser. It is predictable. On the other hand, I'm not a big
fan of CSS/HTML, which for the most part, look wildly different
between browsers, and don't even work consistently or
correctly at times. So why do so many people (like Steve Jobs)

Magpie 31 Magpie is an add-on for Firefox that allows you to quickly save media images, videos and other documents that you find on the internet. It is designed to help you quickly bulk-download media linked from web pages, as well as numeric ranges of files from sites using the Bukster protocol. Magpie also includes tools for adjusting a sites URL by incrementing/decremeting numbers in it, and for sanitizing links to real content by stripping off redirector script prefix/suffixes. Click here to install Magpie 31 for Firefox 08 Save links: Magpie 31 for Firefox 08 Note: You can only use Magpie 31 with Firefox 08 It will not work in Mozilla 1x or older versions of Firefox. Features Save Linked Media Save all files linked to from the page youre currently looking at by hitting CtrlShiftS . To specify which types you want saved when you do this, use Magpies Options panel. Save Following Tabs Open several images, web pages or other media in background tabs then hit CtrlShiftS - all of the files are saved to disk and the tabs are closed. Digit Flipper Alter the document youre viewing by using the Digit Flipper - CtrlShiftX increments the digit, CtrlShiftZ decrements it. URL Interceptor Sometimes links to good content are encapsulated in redirect URLs that randomly send you to undesirable content. The URL Interceptor allows you to mask the good URLs in suspicious URLs to ensure that you go to the site you want - and nowhere else. Changed keystroke for Acquisition mode to CtrlShiftC rather than X so its less easy to accidentally slip into. Problem is that when in Acquisition mode, some links may not work. Theres a bunch more to do with this mode that I probably wont get to right away since I use the tabbed mode more frequently. Added preference to control whether or not saved files are reported in the Download Manager. This is defaulted to do not show in download manager - resulting in large performance gains. You can show items in the download manager by checking the checkbox in the preferences panel Fixed some visual problems in the preferences panel.
