2/27 Oscar predictions?
\_ No more screeners end up on the internet...
\_ The burger will be decent but greasy, and the fries bad.
\_ Will continue being grouchy and living in the trash can.
\_ Felix will get upset when he messes up the apartment.
\_ I predict the ceremony will be pompous and boring.
\_ Pound-for-pound will never again be the best boxer in the world.
\_ Will remain first name of my bologna.
\_ The Perl implementation will probably hang around for a long time.
           \_ and... motd is spent.
\_ A good effort by the Open Cluster Group, but will probably never
           see broad distribtion.
\_ A sadly underrated vintage '80s synthesizer capable of some truly
nasty gut-trembling distored bass sounds, the Oscar has seen a
resurgence of late via emulated software synthesis:

           --lye
\_ His performance on keyboards will be technically proficient but
           lacking in character.

6/13 Kern county once again proves that it sucks
        http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080613/ap_on_re_us/gay_marriage
\_ Or doesn't. Gays can still get their licenses, the county office
           simply won't perform the ceremony.
           \_ and that doesn't suck?
              \_ Not to me.

2/22 I don't really care about the 2007 Oscar but I'm betting with a
bunch of co-workers. What's the best site that gives the best
predictions? I don't care who wins, I'm just looking for the
best (consistent and high %) predictions.

        Hollywood blogger says:
        a) "this year's dirty little Oscar secret was the anecdotal evidence
pouring in to me about hetero members of the [Academy] being
           unwilling to screen Brokeback Mountain"
        b) I told you so: Crash might win because of homophobic Academy voters

3/6 "Crash" was good. Why is it considered an upset?
\_ Cause it sucked sucked sucked
\_ Because everyone was expecting the gay issue movies to win. Or at
least they were getting the ype.
\_ "Crash" was good, but not great. It doesn't really stand up to
most Best Picture winners. Then again, Best Picture hasn't had

12/18 Brokeback Mountain, best movie I have seen in a long time.
        Just go see it.
\_ Is it another one of those movies about gay cowboys eating pudding?
\_ Yeahhh. Hollywood just can't seem to get out of that rut.
           \_ Homo on the Range
\_ Homo, homo on the range

        MUWHWHAHAHA..
\_ Hm, could that be because Moore withheld it from consideration in
           the documentary section?
\_ Keep drinking the kool-aid , it'll help with the pain of defeat

4/19 I really really really don't get Lost in Translation. Sure some
parts are funny but what is the whole damn point? It's obvious that
those lazy Americans feel lonely and lost-- because they don't
**initiate**. They don't want to learn Japananese and hence they
        don't assimilate well. *********************************************
