\_ And over 30 years, one is NOT ALLOWED to reconsider their positions,
           dammit...
\_ Do you think "American security" is directly dependant upon
           "troops dispersed through the world"?
\_ The UN at the time had a lot more credibility than it does today.
And nice way to misrepresent the article--"dispersed through the
world only at the directive of the UN" != "military led by UN".

Id like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations. The Crimson, which published a recap of the 1970 article on Wednesday, reported that Mr. The CIA is fighting its own war in Laos, he said, and nobody seems to care. Kerry, said the comments, which are at odds with the senators current statements, reflect the sentiments of a 26-year-old Vietnam veteran angry at the Nixon White Houses indifference to soldiers dying on the front lines thousands of miles away. Still, the article is generating attention among Republicans, some of whom cite it as evidence that the senator has been inconsistent on national defense. His rhetoric and his record often are canyons apart, said Scott Stanzel, a spokesman for the Bush re-election campaign. Kerry, who had overwhelming victories in Tuesday nights primaries in Virginia and Tennessee, is spending Wednesday and Thursday at his home in Washington, with no public appearances scheduled, before heading off on Friday to campaign in Wisconsin and Las Vegas. Post Reply Private Reply To 1 View Replies To: ambrose I couldnt find anything on the NYTimes site about the John Kerry-Jane Fonda picture. Its funny how the Times could even do up a hi-tech graphic showing us Bushs every moment during his Guard service, yet they couldnt publish a sentence about this photo, and of Fondas defense of Kerry yesterday. The CIA declined the request, and a spokeswoman went so far as adamantly to deny their existence, claiming that maybe a decade ago some intelligence offers voluntarily had sewn one. The intelligence officers who were forced to make them, and who pleaded for anonymity against reprisal from holdovers in the CIA management, are adamant that under Tenet they were pressured to make pieces of the diversity quilts. Apparently, under CIA security restrictions, such programs are revealed only on a need-to-know basis. They made us sit and talk to groups about how it feels when someone makes an insensitive remark, a mid-level CIA officer tells Insight. But Ill betcha he thought the same way as Kerry 28 posted on 02/12/2004 6:07:39 AM PST by Mo1 Do you want a president who injects poison into his skull for vanity? Post Reply Private Reply To 12 View Replies To: Jeff Chandler White, wheat, or rye? It really connected the dots for me and I can fully understand the real causes of our so called intelligence failure. Im glad our President is an honorable man and didnt take an easy out by scapegoating the CIA. I dont know too much about Tenet, but if he is as this article describes him, I would expect that he might resign after the election as officials often do before a second term begins. But from what I have heard from my Dad who was at Cam Ron Bay, my grandfather who was in Pattons Third and captured at the Battle of Bulge when his BAR finally ran out of shells, and my Great Grandfather who was shot in France in 1918, it seems rather stupid to get more than one Purple Hart. I do not mean to offend anyone who did get more than one and deserved it. Bob Dole and GH Bush got them for some serious injuires and we all knew how they were injuried. Is it becuase if you get shot more than once you look very stupid to get a second and a third time. A stray shell landed in the 4077 while he was pealing an egg or drinking coffee and he got burned and had Hot Lips recommend him for the metal.
