2/8 I have a few external drives that I accumulated over the years and
still use occasionally, but they are too many to fit on my very
limited desk space. Are there cheap but sturdy desktop racks for
them? The stackable kitchen table racks found in target/walmart
        just isn't stable enough.
\_ Since a brand new drive costs next to nothing, I'll bet the price
of a rack to hold all your ancient soon-to-crash drives will cost
more than buying a new one and moving all your data over.

phone marketing crap of this, does anyone know where to find the old
Android TCL scripting framework that was used for automating
and controlling desktop apps (like mozilla for example). Thx.

3/7 My sister is graduating soon with a decree in information management.
She was orignally CS, but couldn't cut the math, so her GPA sucks.
However, she has had a couple of internships and did fine. She did
desktop support at RockYou and is currently doing web programming
at UC Santa Cruz, but they can't keep her on after graduation.
Anyone got any jobs? She wanted to be a network admin, but right now

8/1 Where is the mac desktop going to go? It seems all the development
in sw/hw now is for the iphone, imac. 2 finger Gestures won't work
on the desktop. What happened to the xserve line?
\_ Two finger gestures DO work on the desktop. Have you used a new
Apple laptop lately...they support up to 5 finger gestures.
\_ you're making my point even harder, do the 5 finger gestures

7/6 I will attempt to write a desktop application for the masses.
Should I write it in C++, Java, C#, or Python anticipating
that "Shed-Skin" will be mature enough to use to turn my
Python into C++ code. Comments please ladies and gentlemen.
\_ What OS do the masses use?
           \_ powershell.

5/5 Is there a good (or standard) way to make an offline copy of a w
ordpress blog (mine, not someone else's)? tia.
        \_ oh man.
\_ I could cobble something together with curl / wget, but I'd
rather not if there is a standard way of doing this. I'm

always leave all my computers on all the time, except for

2/15 How many watts does a typical desktop (not counting monitor)
use when it is completely idling (top shows at most 1-2% CPU),
assuming normal SATA HD, video card, 2-4G RAM?
\_ Google did a published study where they determined that the
largest consumer of energy in a computer is the power supply
itself. Figure that if you have a 400W power supply you are
