1/29 Why are portrait print films ISO 160, while the ISOs of all other
        print films are 25,50,100,200,...,3200 (2^n * 25)? What's so special
        about ISO 160? Thanks.
        \_ for softer contrast:
           http://photo.hitechemall.com/selfilm.htm
\_ This only tells you that if you want soft contrast you should use
portrait films which are ISO 160. But what I want to know is
that why all film manufacturer decided (or found out) that they
should make their portrait films at ISO 160 in order to give best
              results for portrait work.
\- it's possible it is easier to get say consistent skin tones
from indoor/outdoor films if you squeeze the iso range.
that's just a guess why you might want 160/320 rather than
                 100-400. ok tnx --psb

11/7 If I don't need to print for a few months, do I need to keep adding

8/28 Hi, anybody printed a photo image to a big plotter? Something like
36"x36"? I'm wondering how many megapixels the image need to
have in order for the print to "look good". There is a rule of
thumb? Like 6 megapixel is good for X size print. 10 megapixel
is good for Y size print. Thanks.
\_ You don't need that many more megapixels for much bigger prints,

Each classification will have different speed, lighting type, format, packaging, etc. Reversal films use a reversal processing method to bring out a positive image instead of a negative image. Reversal film can be used on projection, display, movie, and industry use. Improper lighting will deviate from realistic colour much more severe than a human eye can observe. You can experience this trouble by taking an indoor picture without an electronic flash. Most general-purpose colour films are colour corrected for daylight. Most colour movie films are colour corrected for tungsten lighting. Film speed has been defined by International Standards Organization as ISO. No, high-speed film is very grainy, foggy, poor colour reproduction, low contrast, short shelf life, etc. If you are right, why is it the film manufacturer promote high-speed film? Film manufacturer would like to do more research on high-speed film, therefore, they have to sell more to support their dream. For high quality job, such as product shoots, use ISO 25 or ISO 50 speed film. For softer contrast, such as portrait, wedding picture, use ISO 160 speed film. Please compare with the right side portrait, which was taken with ISO 160 professional film. Contrast, colour quality and shelf life are inversely proportional to speed. Theoretically, the lower the speed, the better quality you could get.
