12/2 I'm using godaddy as my registrar and they don't serve subdomains for
free. What do people here use for their nameservers?
\_ My own machine as a hidden primary, and http://secondary.com (now
           UltraDNS) as the public primaries.

Anything less is lost revenue, lost brand image, lost customers. Companies can not afford to have something as simple and fixable as DNS failures reduce their Internet presence to an error page. A business website is too important to be absolutely dependent upon a single point of failure. But if businesses do not protect DNS servers with a secondary system, the company website could be vulnerable to traffic spikes, human error, or natural disasters. Businesses depending upon a website for revenue, customers, or brand image can not afford to have it reduced to an error page because of a DNS outage. SecondaryDNS keeps companies open 24/7/365, enabling each and every customer to reach the website.
