11/21 The other post reminded me I need a new home printer since my inkjet
died. I want to get a laser printer. B/W only is fine. Cost and
resupply cost is important. Print speed is important. Reasonable
print quality is required but I'm not sending documents to God so
I'm not willing to pay 2x for the very best print outs. Any
suggestions on what I should look at? Thanks!
\_ samsung makes some good cheap laser printers
\_ speaking of that, amazon has one for ~$104 after rebate.

\_ thank you all but this url poster rocks! thank you! --op
\_ The HP LaserJet 1012 is not bad if you just want to hook the
printer up to a single computer. Brother and Lexmark also
have sub $150 printers that are pretty good.

8/28 Hi, anybody printed a photo image to a big plotter? Something like

7/7 Another printer question. I bought a HP LaserJet 6L about 4 years

Offering up to 17 monochrome pages per minute and a respectable 600 dpi resolution, you can churn through up to 15,000 pages each month. The compact design allows this printer to fit snugly into smaller spaces, while USB connectivity will have it up and running in just minutes. If youre printing draft copies, simply press the Toner Save button and youll conserve your consumables until youre ready for that final professional print. Whats in the Box Printer, paper tray, 1,000-sheet starter cartridge, drivers, startup sheet, warranty card Spotlight Reviews Whats this? Write an online review and share your thoughts with other customers. Driver installation was a cinch and its status monitor utility tells you the exact status of the printer off, sleep, problem connecting, etc. It features a paper tray for convenient loading unlike previous generations of Samsung printers. Toners for this printer is very expensive, will run you around eighty dollars almost as much as the printer itself. You can try refilling it yourself or buying a remanufactured cartridge but since my starter cartridge is still going strong, I have not bought a replacement yet. It has been only one week since I bought Samsung ML-1710 Laster Printer. The jamming problem would be one of the most frustrating problems found in a printer. Its also time consuming to get of the jammed paper and to start printing from where I stopped. The heat produced from the printer curls paper a lot and it does not even look nice and flat. Sometimes I had to put a stack of printed papers between my encyclopedia and stepped on it to flattend them. It has a lot more solid feel than you would expect for this price. Now the trial cartridge is wearing out, I need to drop $80 on a real one, but I knew that going in, and its supposed to be good for 3000 pages, which will last me forever. Unlike most computer peripherals these days, the driver software doesnt suck. It has never had issues with plugging/unplugging the USB cord or switching the printer on/off in the middle. I set it to print only odd pages it has this option hidden away in advanced page setup then put the paper back in the tray and print even pages. The key is to remember how to flip the paper: the side you want to print on, should be towards you, at the front, facing down. The nice thing is, that this just means that you take the output pile on top of the printer, turn it upside down, and put it back in without rotating it, then print the even sides.
