11/12 Christopher Lee cut from RoTK: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/3265475.stm \_ this doesn't suck because it's Christopher Lee, it sucks because it means they're skipping a very important scene. skipping the scene (which should have been in the second movie) in which Gandalf confronts Saruman does not bode well for the third movie, overall. \_ ehh, won't they just add it back in a special edition? \_ The scouring won't even be in the movies at all. I'm finding myself strangely happy with this decision. \_ I didn't realize he was also Count Dooku. He's a geek god now. \_ He already was a horror geek god. Do a google on "Hammer Horror." \_read http://www.aintitcool.com It talks about why it was cut from both the 2nd a 3rd movies. It will be in the 2nd movie's special edition. |

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/3265475.stm Actor Christopher Lee has said he was mystified to learn that his key scenes have been dropped from the third Lord of the Rings movie. Lee, 81, who plays the wizard Saruman in the trilogy, said he had expected to appear in seven minutes worth of climactic scenes. Of course I am very shocked, thats all I can say, he told ITV1s This Morning on Wednesday. Lee fans have now started an online petition to restore the scenes. As far as Im concerned, Im only telling you this because it has been revealed on the internet, someone has talked and it certainly wasnt me, he told the UK TV show. If you want to know why you would have to ask the company New Line or director Peter Jackson and his associates because I still dont really know why. I cant say any more because I signed a confidentiality agreement and I honoured my word. Asked if he would attend the premire, he said: No, whats the point? Lee, who also appears as Count Dooku in the Star Wars films, said appearing in the first two Lord of the Rings movie had been a dream come true. |
