4/02    We use Perforce at work for revision control. It seems to work okay.
        Lately, a lot of the newer developers are saying that Perforce
        sucks and we should switch to Mercurial or Git. I have done some
        searching on the Internet and some others have this opinion. Added
        advantage is that Mercurial and Git are free. However, there would
        be some work to switch for the sysadmins and the developers.

        \_ Soda doesn't have a real IPv6 address.  The IPv6 addresses you see
           in ifconfig are just link-local addresses; any IPv6-capable machine

11/1    I'm moving from a home in Fremont to another home within the same ZIP
        code in Fremont, and AT&T customer service says I cannot transfer my
        DSL service because DSL is not available at my new home.  Is that BS?
        Are they just trying to push me to subscribe to their more expensive
        U-verse service?  I'm not asking for any lightening-speed connection.

Internet usage will be based on what is accomplished and will only be granted after tasks are completed. It is an earned privilege, not a right. Examples of earned time will be: Cat pan cleaned: 15 minutes House vacuumed: 1 hour Bedroom is clean by our Standards: 1 hour Bathroom floor swept: 15 minutes Bathroom floor mopped: 30 minutes Den and kitchen floor swept: 1 hour Dishes washed, dried, put away 1 hour Dinner cooked and cleaned 15 hours Clock time is subject to parents estimate of time. There will be a 3 minutes warning when asked to get off of the computer. After 3 minutes, the computer will be shut off regardless of what has or hasnt been saved. Going over the limit, non-compliance or attitude will result in the loss of computer usage for the next day, regardless of earned time remaining. No matter how much earned time is remaining, computer cut off time is 11 pm unless a major assignment or large amount of homework is due and only schoolwork is being done. No IM-ing while homework is being done. If you must exchange work, it will be done over the telephone or via E-Mail. Anything on the computer is subject to inspection at anytime and all passwords must either be given to parents or removed. No IM-ing after 11 pm on any night prior to a school day. IM-ing can be extended on weekend nights if there is earned internet time remaining.
