Horn, who turned 59 Friday, was taken to University Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, MGM Mirage spokesman Alan Feldman said. Roy is a very, very strong-willed person as well as having physical strength, said Bernie Yuman, the duos longtime manager. Its touching to hear from so many people all at a short time, Yuman said. Firefighters were called to the hotel-casino about 8:20 pm and found Horn had been attacked at the throat by a tiger during a performance, said Clark County Fire spokesman Bob Leinbach. They treated him for massive blood loss, treated him for breathing trouble, Leinbach said, adding that on the way to the hospital, Roy was able to talk with the ambulance staff. Feldman said the full extent of Horns injuries may not be known for a couple of days. Moments later, the tiger lunged at Horn, who tried beating the tiger off with a microphone, Cushman said. Horns partner, Siegfried Fischbacher, later appeared on stage visibly upset and said the performance was canceled, Cushman said. The German-born pair have been a staple on the Las Vegas Strip for more than 30 years, performing six shows a week, 44 weeks per year. Their fantastical show features dozens of animals, including lions, tigers and elephants. A party was held at The Mirage Thursday to celebrate Horns birthday. The tiger involved in the attack, a 7-year-old male named Montecore, was quarantined at the hotel, officials said.
