The line from Matt Houston near the bottom made me laugh. They
        brainwash em young these days.
\_ interesting article, ignorant comment. How was the quote you
reference any more brainwashed than the other guy....
           \_ Matt's X vs Y comparison is apples and oranges. He's comparing
what affirmative action is based on vs the stated purpose of
affirmative action. I find the race/price bake sale to be very
clever. You'll note the school closed it down to avoid an
outbreak of violence, not for any other reason you might imagine.
This raises the question of why would such a thing cause someone
to get violent? I suggest anyone who lacks such a minimal level
of self control doesn't belong at school, but rather prison or
              a psychiatric ward.
\_ Um, perhaps because it's deliberately insulting. Not to
mention a failed analogy. And the comparison is not apples
and oranges. It's a 19 year old who hasn't taken enough
rhetoric classes. Do you disagree with the goals of
affirmative action? With the methods? Other than quibbling
over a teenager's verbiage, you've said nothing --scotsman
\_ Just getting a kick out of the state of education and
complete inability for Joe Student to make a point in
a semi-coherent manner. Being 19 is no excuse for being
stupid. Even worse he let himself get quoted being
completely stupid. Rhetoric classes shouldn't be required
to not make an ass of one's self in public. As far as AA
goes, I don't care. The pendulum is swinging back and
it'll be dead soon anyway no matter what I think. -op
