              \_ No money, parents bankrupt, couldn't pay for school. Got a job
                 and have been supporting them (and myself) just barely ever
                 since. Thank $DEITY for relatively high software engineering

                 \_ I habitually thank all deities and pantheons that money
                    that would be going into teacher salaries and paramedics
                    and investment towards renewable energies goes instead
                    into putting pictures of hipsters on the web.

                             individual decisions can lead to sub-optimal

                       \_ Oh Please, the US isn't a freemarket, most ppl
                          come to the US to flee a free market society, where
                          everything, guns, people, drugs, is for sale with
                          zero gov interference.  The problem is self interest
                          that is inherently unsustainable for the culture.
