9/26 McCain wins debate! Oh...errr....
http://donklephant.com/2008/09/26/mccain-wins-debate
\_ So far McCain is far more well composed and articulate than
Obama. Obama rambles a lot, and called him "Jim" Oh man
I'm not happy about this. -liberal
\_ McCain is holding well, Obama is defending himself
fiercefully. This IS looking ugly.
\_ He is preparing for the debate.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/politics
This is BRILLIANT. He says there is "significant progress"
towards the financial sector and thus will resume his campaign.
He's going to use this as a leverage, criticizing Obama for
not caring about the financial sector, while throwing off
the Obama people who didn't expect this coming. Element of
surprise, baby. Sun Tzu's Ancient Art of War.
\_ Don't you ever get bored pretending everything that McCain
does is BRILLIANT! If McCain was caught raping a 12 year
old you'd have some story about how this was a brilliant
tactical move on McCain's part and that Obama is playing
right into his hand by suggesting that we shouldn't rape
12 year olds.
\_ You're BRILLIANT!!!
\_ And obviously playing right into McCain's hands.
\_ This reminds me of the time I was in junior high. I got into
a fight with this guy and he was losing so he said "ok ok,
I give up, you're right." I turned around, and the next thing
I knew I was in the hospital. What a sucker I was. All I can say
is ... well done, McCain. Obama is sucker.
\_ You are idiot. |

9/26 Any idea why soda wasn't accepting logins until 1pm today?
\_ don't know but I was already on and it knew UIDs only
(no associated usernames) so it makes sense that username
based login was failing
\_ it was pretty sick. Possibly the LDAP server was offline. |

9/25 I don't understand this whole thing. Haven't we learned anything
from the Roaring 20s, highly unregulated FREE MARKET boom, good
times, unsustainable market, politicians doing nothing... all led
to the big crash of 1929? There are so many parallels between the
unregulated market of 1920s and the unregulated market of home
loans. Do we not learn from our own past?
\_ I don't learn from my own past so I will repeat the mistake I've
made before (here goes): We don't learn from our mistakes, but
they are not the mistakes you think. The only economists pre-
dicting the great depression were of the Austrian school and
they believed that it was(/would be) brought on by the easy
credit available due to the FED. Which was Gubment action
(The Austrian School was VERY pro "FREE MARKET"). It should be
pointed out that this theory can fit fine with other theories
including the French/Marxist ideas of income inequality/structural
imbalances in methods of accumulation vs. methods of consumption
(forgive me if my terminology is off; it has been 15 years since
I studied this stuff and I may have the phrases wrong).
Furthermore, having set up this fall, the FED then exacerbated it
by tightening money supply right at the time when an increase in
the money supply was needed to keep marginal banks from failing.
(This was a bit of a power struggle between the New York Branch
which wanted a looser money supply and the DC bank which won out).
Congress then got into the act with Tarriffs and other idiotic
protectionism, just to make sure the pooch was screwed proper.
Nothing the Government was able to do really helped much untill
the War came along.
\_ Actually, the New Deal made a huge difference. The economy
grew at 9-11% most years from 1932 to 1939.
\_ Isn't New Deal a COMMUNIST thing? |

9/26 McCain lies about the Obama wanting to raise taxes on people
making $42K. Does he like being known as McCain the Liar?
\_ Better than Obama the fascist.

\_ Did you even read that article? Do you have 3 functioning
brain cells or do you just like acting like a mouth breathing
moron.
\_ Yes, I did read it, thanks.
\_ So are you dumber than dirt or just a troll? |

9/26 Russia's a democracy. Iran's a democracy. Wouldn't they be
members of McCain's League of Democracies?
\_ Russia is definitely not a democracy. Any decision may be
arbitrarily changed by Putin. Iran is not a democracy, at least
no the US version. any decision by the democratically elected
not the US version. any decision by the democratically elected
leadership can be overruled by the chief cleric.
\_ And yet they both hold reasonably free and fair elections, which
makes them democracies, at least by definition. What McCain is
proposing (and you are agreeing with) is an arbitrary club of
countries we like. We currently call this NATO.
\_ I still don't think you can really say Iran and Russia are
democracies. It stretches the bounds of credibility to say that
Russia has free and fair elections. The country is controlled
by Putin. Few would disagree with this. Absolutely any decision
in Iran can be modified by the Supreme Ruler I mean head cleric. |

9/26 McCain is going to be our next president. I didn't know how bad
Obama was in the debate until this very moment. It is a dark dark
realization. Sad. Depressed. -liberal
\ You want to make a bet on that? -aspo
\_ It's all about how you say it and how you look. It's clear
the old man is calm and looks better. He irritates the hell
out of the young man who is fiercely trying to defend himself.
\_ As I said. A simple bet, say $100? -aspo
\_ Old man is well composed, irritates young man who now looks
more like super sighing Al Gore
\- DRAW, BABY DRAW
\_ Obama knocked it out of the park. McCain looked old, cranky and
inarticulate and kept talking out of turn. I am sorry to say
that the most liberal member of the Senate will be the next
President. -Conservative
\_ Undecided voters favored Obama:
http://tinyurl.com/3hsfhp
inarticulate. Obama looked Presidential.
inarticulate. Obama looked Presidential. -Conservative
\_ There's going to be a really big poll in November. Worry about
arguing your points, not the outcome of the vote. |
