7/11 Berkeley's own Brad DeLong on the Fannie Mae bailout:
Most amusing moment: Grover Norquist blames Nancy Pelosi
        for high gasoline prices.
        \_ I blame Al Gore.

7/11 iPhone applications no longer launch. Launch, wait 5 seconds,
go back to the main menu. What's going on? I tried rebooting,
reset data from Settings, etc. Argh!!!
\_ That happened to me after I restored by iPhone v1.0 backup to
my new v2.0 iPhone. I had to re-download the applications and
           then they worked fine. --peterl

7/12 You stay classy lefties []
\_ You pick out one obscure blogger that gets, what, one hundred
hits a day, as representing "lefties?" I am sure Herr Coulter
says more disgusting things daily and millions follow her every
\_ I pointed to the AP.
\_ What about that AP story is offensive to you?

7/12 From the WSJ Editorial Page (is it getting better recently):
"But the minister, .. added fuel to a mounting political furor by
revealing the existence of a previously secret bureaucratic body,
called the Interdepartmental Working Group on Cartoons.
... [It had] been set up after the 2006 Danish cartoon crisis to alert
Dutch officials to any risks the Netherlands might face. [...] Headed
by a senior bureaucrat from a national agency coordinating
counterterrorism, it draws from the intelligence service, the
interior minister, the prosecutor's office and various other
        government bodies."
Even Kafka couldn't make this kind of shit up.
\_ It is laughable, but hey publishing those stupid cartoons let
the danish imams stir a bunch of shit up and a few people died.
\- lets talk about a flag burning amendment instead.

7/12 I just saw "Get Smart" and it was actually pretty good. They do
a surprisingly good job with a difficult comedy/action/romance plot.
Most of the bad reviews just seem to be people complaining that it's
not like how they remember the TV show. Yeah, it's better. My
        wife loved it too.
