4/4 Taking 10 year olds to day spaws. ew.
\_ There's no w in that word
\_ SC accent

\_ What is your point? There's a market for everything. Hummer,
dog feng-shui, puppy accupuncture, a bunch of cat psychologists
near Brentwood/Beverly Hills, gangsta rap, spinner wheels, huge
suburban homes in Glendora with 1.5 hour commute to nearest tech
work in Irvine or Santa Monica, etc. Come to think of it, on
average, people in LA seem to have pretty high self esteem and
fairly low IQ... perfect place to test for weird market ideas.
\_ I take it you didn't RTFA since your reply seems to be talking
about something totally different...
\_ You're right. I'm just PMSing. |

4/4 God, I hate LA.
\_ Do you live there, or are you just expressing a random opinion?
I hate musicals.
\_ both but stuck here for a very very long time.
\_ You're wrong, musicals are great.
\_ I hate the Nutcracker. It is not great.
\_ That's great, but it's not a musical. It's a ballet.
\_ Well, New Orleans can be fun.
\_ Only when it's flooding, though.

4/4 message from female:
"I'm doing a crossword puzzle. What's a five letter word
for pirate treasure?"
Is she really that into crossword puzzles or am I missing
something here.
\_ She said "pirate treasure", not "private pleasure". I think the
answer is "prize".
\_ try "booty." also, it's a reference to a beastie boys song, sucka.
\_ try "booty." also, it's a reference to a beastie boys song,
sucka.
\_ I thought "Booty" refers to plunder taken on land, not at sea.

\_ ***** call!
\_ If that's her way of flirting she's an idiot.
\_ You're missing a 5 letter word for pirate treasure. |

4/4 10-part series on CAIR
http://www.investigativeproject.org/profile/172
\_ I skimmed the summaries and oh my god does that read like a
bunch of cherry picking filled with insinuations and no
real data. AKA a classic hit piece. |

4/4 "Slow Down a Little, Save a Lot of Gas"
http://www.csua.org/u/l7s (finance.yahoo.com)
\_ RIDE A BIKE and save even more gas. Economically it boils down to
what is your time worth? Is driving faster going to save enough of
your time to make up for the extra fuel cost?
Their argument that it saves 'a lot of gas' is week, it pretty much
just saves a little.
\_ It's kind of depressing riding my bike to work and being passed
by hundreds of cars. Especially since many of the cars have
driven an 50 miles to get there...
\_ Change your bike route/time along heavy commute. I used to
pass by cars along Shattuck in Oakland even on my heavy
mountain bike.
\_ Haha. Unfortunately I'm travelling the wrong direction
for that.
\_ PFT! USE FOOT! Ride bike will not help. It just hides the
costs of shipping and processing all that metal, exotic plastics
and other earth destroying by products of the biking craze. If
everyone walked barefoot at all times there'd be no transport
pollution at all. |

4/4 jrleek, please tell us about the job you love, and if you guys
are hiring. I'm fed up with big companies, big beauracracy, big
politics and most importantly the lack of career growth in big
ass places.
\_ Maybe you are just a crank.
\_ If you want details, post your name or email me. Anyway
I work at Lawrence Livermore National Lab, we're not
hiring, and it doesn't sound like you'd like it anyway.
It's a big beauracracy. -jrleek
\_ Why do you enjoy working at a place that you recognize
is a big beauracracy? Is it the prestige, the bragging
right that you're working on something secretive, that
you're doing something good for our country (I LOVE AMERICA)
or something else? Just curious.
\_ Your assumption that big beaurocracy = bad in all situations
may be fallacious. -not jrleek
\_ Sorry, I think it's extremely rude to call someone
out by name without posting your own. Post your name
or email me. -jrleek
\_ Bravo!
\_ jrleek is awesome, but I would not want his job. -vallard
\_ That's ok, I don't want your job either. -jrleek |

4/4 Are mother in laws a good indicator to your wife's figure 1-2
decades from now?
\_ Yes and no. They are only half of the genetics. Also, plastic
surgery and exercise can complicate things. I know young women
with mothers that look better than they do. I also know
attractive young women whose mothers look terrible because they
do not pay attention to diet and exercise. If your wife's mom
let herself go and your wife does not then they might look
totally different. Pay attention to not only your wife and her
mom, but also their lifestyles and they contribute.
mom, but also their lifestyles and how they contribute.
\_ Damnit. Ok. My next question is, is it appropriate to buy
a treadmill or get incentives for her to exercise?
\_ don't worry about it; she'll dump your bigoted ass long
before then.
\_ Only if she asks for it. Otherwise, you're looking at a
very volatile domestic situation and possibly time on
the couch. And just in case you haven't figured it out
yet, there is _no_ good answer to "Does this dress
make me look fat?"
\_ Better idea, don't say 'you' have to exercise, say 'we'
have to. Go with her, play tennis together or go to
the gym together. Try to make it a family/health/date
thing.
\_ Good advice. Additionally, look at her father and her
siblings; the more siblings she has, the easier it may be
to spot trends. Then again, genetics is a crapshoot, so
maybe not.
\_ Mother-in-law's bedroom skills are good indicators to your wife's
bedroom skills 1-2 decades from now. Try out the mother-in-law
before you marry.
\_ I think this is totally 100% false. My mom-in-law is an
exhibitionist who claims to love sex and who has been
married 4 times. Both of her daughters are prudes that are
embarrassed by her behavior and don't really care for sex as
they see it as male repression. With sex in particular
attitudes are more generational than they are learned from
parents. (Product of the 1960s versus AIDS generation for
instance.)
\_ Sounds like you should be having sex with yermominlaw.
\_ Um, this could be a female posting. She could have
married the mom-in-law's son and so the prude
daughters are the sisters-in-law, not a wife/mate.
100% false person, are you a woman married to
your mom-in-law's son, or a man married to one
of her prude daughters?
\_ A girl posting on the motd? Surely you jest.
\_ Look at it this way: Are hippy parents likely to
have hippy kids? Usually it seems like conservative
parents have hippy kids and hippy parents have
conservative kids as kids just want to rebel and be
different. So maybe look at whether your
grandmother-in-law is good in bed. Of course, the
problem with that is back then she was scandalous
when she showed ankle so maybe it's not a good
predictor of anything.
\_ I don't think that this is true, in general, but
I have to admit that I don't have any hard evidence,
but anecdotally, hippies produce more hippies and
religious people tend to produce children like
them. Have you seen any studies indicating otherwise?
\_ I have not seen any studies of this sort at all,
but I have noticed how trends seem to alternate
generationally - whether it's attitudes
towards drugs or teen pregnancy. Society
seems to swing one way and then the other and
then back.
\_ Your wife thinks of sex as male repression? Are you kidding?
Does she knows that "All sex is rape" line is an urban legend?
