10/29 http://autism.about.com/od/whatisautism/p/autismcauses.htm http://www.glutensolutions.com/autism.htm WHEAT GLUTEN and casein, among other genetic dispositions and environment factors, may cause AUTISM. \_ Because before this last generation NOBODY ate wheat and dairy. Jesus christ lay off on your fear of food. \_ "It's often suggested to remove milk first because the body will clear itself of milk/casein the quickest. ... It may take up to six months on a gluten-free diet for the body to rid itself of all gluten." Ugh, how many people actually follow through esp when almost everything you buy today has dairy + gluten? http://www.autismweb.com/diet.htm \-^and casein^&& CASEIN \_ See! I was right. Now I'll never develop autism. \_ Wait, hold on. ZERO wheat and ZERO dairy (esp. milk)? That is ridiculous. What are we suppose to live on, steaks and fruits? Ridiculous. \_ Especially with bees dying off and removing 1/3 of our food supply? \_ What is YOUR diet like? I'm sure it's also full of wheat & dairy as well. \_ And bees. \_ rice! Go macrobiotic ya fat bastid \_ Using the TV as a baby sitter for young children is a lot more likely to cause autism. \_ Fear of food has replaced fear of evil spirits as the modern superstition. \_ I fear spiritual food. I don't want to miss out on any fears. In fact, I fear missing out. |

"shee-ay". dont pronounce the n unless fem form "chienne".
i assume you arent looking for the nuanced difference between
chien in french french vs quebec french etc. you may wish to
watch "un chien andalou".
\_ Thanks partha, you rule! So how do you say

10/29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hague_Conventions_%281899_and_1907%29 Look at all the sections and declarations. I guess atomic bomb is totally legal because they're not covered in the chemical and biological warfare sections. As for launching explosives from the air, I guess that is perfectly legal too since they're not launched from balloons. \_ If you're really interested in the Hague and the circumstances surrounding it, I recommend "The Proud Tower" by Barbara Tuchman which has a large chapter on both conferences. Basically, none of the participants were truly interested in the outcome, and the conference was originally called as a ploy by the Russian foreign minister. |

10/29 Is there such a command in emacs where I can say "mark this point
so I can roam around and then jump back immediately?" -learning
\_ Ctrl-SPACE to mark, Ctrl-X Ctrl-X to jump back.
\_ Ctrl-SPACE to mark, Ctrl-X Ctrl-X to jump back. You can do Ctrl-X
Ctrl-X repeatedly to jump back and forth.
\_ Thank emacs guru!!!
\_ Is there a way to avoid the annoying highlighting?
\- i am not sure exactly what you are seeing, but you might see
if the issue is the "transient-mark-mode" setting.
\_ What type of file are you looking at (.cpp? .html? ...) What
is emacs highlighting in that file? |

10/29 did they ever give up looking for those coal miners?
\_ http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/09/01/utah.mine/index.html

bury those minors than to rescue them.
\_ The Invisible Hand needs a dictionary.
\_ Perhaps pp is referring to a more personal matter.

\_ Are you short GOOG $100 guy?
\_ No, of course not. Shorting is stupid. Especially a company
like GOOG that can only go up! Sky is the limit, baby!
\_ troll tactic: when confronted with a factual question,
dodge it and increase mockery.
\_ What dodge? I said, "No, of course not". Which part of
that was unclear? The point is how can you even consider
that GOOG can go anywhere but up? I directly answered
your factual question. Only then did I mock you. Mock!
Mock! Mock! I mocketh thee, oh ye of the public
education system reading skills!
\_ Are you GOOG short $635 guy?
\_ Geeze, no. I'm not "never short anything ever bc
it is stupid and you'll get your wallet cleaned out"
guy. I don't have to be 'short GOOG guy' to mock
you, though. MOCK!
\_ So you are mocking someone who neither owns nor
shorts GOOG? Whatever trips your trigger, dude.. |

10/29 In mysql MyISAM table, if I do a very long read query (SELECT)
and then do an INSERT, will that INSERT hang? I understand that
MyISAM is non-transactional so I'm guessing the two calls are
independent of each other?
\_ From my understanding no. Not unless you explicitly lock the table.
What you get, however, is undefined. (I'm assuming these are on
different connections.) |

10/29 How much wheat gluten exists in pasta?
\_ I think "all of it"? If you're avoiding wheat gluten, you have
to avoid pasta and most bread products.
\- you can eat barley
\_ You could try soba noodles. I don't know if they have gluten
in them, but they might not. They are also high in protein.
\- soba is "OTAY" for non-glueten people.
\_ It's a wheat product so "a lot" -- Rice pasta is very good. Pasta
Pomodoro (in San Francisco) offers gluten free pasta dishes.
\- I dont know jack shit about cooking, but if you are interested
in this stuff, McGee: On Food and Cooking is "the standard".
That is where Mario Batali goes when he wants to analyze dough,
flour etc. It has ~20pages onf gluten, different flours etc.
I think I got my (new) copy cheep at Green Apple for <$20. --psb
\_ $26 and change with free shipping at Amazon, and thank you
for the recommendation. --erikred
\- it is the standard.
