6/22 chinese auto makers not so hot http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/22/brilliance-bs6s-adac-crash-test-is-anything-but \_ I am a Chinese. The sheer fact that they even have a domestic automobile, AND the fact that they are trying to sell it outside China amazes me... If you still think China is a closed market, go to China sometimes. You may find that even Chinese with slightest sense of self-respect wouldn't buy a domestic branded car! \_ They've had domestic cars for a while. Including the "Chery" a Daewoo (GM) Matiz rip-off. http://paultan.org/archives/2006/02/18/chery-qq-crash-test \_ The "Red Flag" brand has existed for a long while and is very prestigious. |

6/22 The "Center for American Progress" study on talk radio says that KQKE-AM is 24% progressive content. Is this accurate based on anyone's experience? \_ Quantification of qualified criteria is a mug's game. \_ Well, for starters the tagline of the station is "Progressive Talk Radio" \_ You're misreading the table. Those aren't percentages. Those are weekday programming hours. |

6/22 25N, 55E \_ Is it your next suidide bombing target? \_ Just thought it looked cool--didn't know there was more than one of these being built--look NE to se the completed one. \_ Uhh, all I see is sand. Lots and lots of sand. \_ I see Dubai's artificial "palm tree" peninsula. Well, two of them. \_ Cf. arguments that we should colonize the Gobi Desert before we bother colonizing Mars. |

6/22 chinese auto makers not so hot http://preview.tinyurl.com/2lzp44 (autoblog.com) \_ I am a Chinese. \_ those doesn't count. key components such as Engine are still foreign made. \_ There are a few Chinese brands that are very big in South America -- low prices and poor emissions standards make them pretty attractive for buyers who can't afford a big western prestige brand. -John \_ Interestingly enough, in China Buick is considered a really hot, luxurious brand and a status symbol similar to a BMW or Merc in the States. GM is doing much better in China than in the States, and I expect them to eventually become a mostly foreign company. \_ Cadillac in China probably has the same status as Buick. Maybe it's because Buick and Cadillac used to be luxurious brands in the US, which are then reflected in China after a time lag. Or maybe it's just pure marketing. \_ I kept telling my cousin in Shanghai that Buick is a piece of shit... LOL \_ Buick may have the brand recognization which they don't deserve, but American cars are still lag behind in terms of sales figure and market share. go figures. \_ Buicks are status symbols in Japan as well. I think it has something to do with the car being so big, bloated, unreliable, and completely unsuited to Japanese road design that only a really rich asshole who doesn't need to care about anyone else can/would bother to own/drive one. You can often find them double-parked on two-lane streets in front of pachinko parlors. \_ Jeeps were the 4x4 king in Japan. When I told my counterparts in Japan that I drive a Jeep Cherokee back home, they thought "Wow!", while the reason I bought a Cherokee was that I couldn't afford a Nissan Pathfinder or a Toyota 4-Runner. |

I'm not into rap, hip-hop, or whatever ghetto dance these African American kids are into, and it was a waste of time for me. \_ Is this a racist statement? \_ get a life. \_ Ghetto ghetto ghetto \_ I believe this is a matter of opinion \_ now you can be entertained while being mugged and raped! |
