I may start PhD research next year involving OLEDs, and would like to start building relationships with companies. Any kind of headstart would help. Please email me with info. -sax \_ some of the censored responses lead me to elaborate. I'd like to obtain samples this year, so that next year I can develop real tech specs. The payoff for a company willing to work with me will really be in the 4-6 year range, and will be in free publicity, free research into functional uses for the material, and in the end large purchase orders when I get to that part of the funding cycle. Plus it's an artistic endeavor, so any donations are probably tax deductable. -sax \_ what is your GRE score, smart ass graduate student? \_ "billions upon billiona upon billions..." \_ hello PhD candidate. 2/8 I have a few external drives that I accumulated over the years and still use occasionally, but they are too many to fit on my very limited desk space. Are there cheap but sturdy desktop racks for them? The stackable kitchen table racks found in target/walmart just isn't stable enough. \_ Since a brand new drive costs next to nothing, I'll bet the price of a rack to hold all your ancient soon-to-crash drives will cost more than buying a new one and moving all your data over. |

2/9 Hi folks, my girlfriend's friend got into a car accident on the freeway involving four cars (perhaps minor body damage, everyone apparently fine, cops did show up), and it appears she is at fault (lost control, maybe bald tires). She got the minimum required insurance through CA state, which was contracted to GE Auto Insurance (now owned by AIG) in this case. She talked with an AIG rep about details of the accident and they told her they recorded the phone conversation, told her to hire a lawyer since the other parties already had theirs, and sent her a letter saying she may be 100% responsible for the accident. I talked with my brother who's a lawyer (not his area though) and he says that usually insurance companies provide a lawyer for you, and they end up settling with the other lawyers for the full amount of the policy. He suspects that they are not providing a lawyer because it's through CA state, and that the lawyer she hires should find out why her insurance company isn't providing one. Any comments on the insurance company not providing a lawyer part, or anyone else who has experience with auto insurance purchased through CA state? Thanks. \_ the insurance company should be supplying a lawyer to protect her! Unless it's a bad insurance company. \_ It sounds like if you she can afford a lawyer, she should get one. 02/09 The pretty boy wasn't always pretty. In my senior year in high school and first year at berkeley, I had a lot of large, red, exploding pimples on my lower jaws. It was disgusting. Things changed when I decided to take control over what I eat. First, I stopped drinking milk and sugar water. Cows are injected with growth hormones to make them produce more milk for the corporate farmer. You don't want that in your body. Don't trust the "hormone-free" milk either. Root cause is people eating fatty crap that clogs up their arteries. \_ I always thought pimples = hormones / face washing \_ pimples = hormones * stressing about your goddamned skin \_ I think the percentage of people with hormonal problems are very small. Just like the obese people. Vast majority is cause by people eating too much crap and likes to blame their problems on their genes. Taking responsibililty is too hard for most of those people.
