01/12 If profiling is shown to be very effective in finding terrorists, will you still oppose it? \_ profiling, approaching and interrogating is fine, but encampment or imprisonment is not \_ How do you propose there be an interrogation without some form of confinement? Ask them to show up each day at 9am? \_ ie: asking questions. if they don't show up to the interview , they are suspects. \_ at least they get free health care |

1/12 I need to replace the front windshield of my car. Are there any features that'll make the glass more expensive, or should I just shop around for the cheapest? \_ You have car insurance? That's what it is there for. \_ Check with your insurance co. first. Acts of God are covered under comprehensive and your insurance company will provide you with a recommended list. \_ However, it may cost less than your deductible.. |

1/11 I want to make my linux box send faxes. What's the cheapest class 1 or class 2 faxmodem that i can get my hands on quickly? (i live in oakland) \_ buy a 28.8 off ebay or craigslist. \_ http://www.craigslist.org/pen/for/22199590.html http://www.craigslist.org/sby/sys/22162455.html http://www.craigslist.org/sby/sys/22288173.html http://www.craigslist.org/sby/sys/22010796.html \_ You can often find a modem for free-after-rebate at CompUSA, Office Depot and the like. \_ Those are always Winmodems. Is there a Linux driver for them yet? \_ can you get one of those old-fashioned external modems from CompUSA? Or one of those lexmark/HP all-in-one fax/printer/scanners? \_ Ask a friend. Someone always has some old crappy modem sitting in a closet his SO would be happy to see gone. One less piece of junk. \_ Try "The Used Computer Store" in Berkeley. Their prices suck, but it'll probably be better than new, and they have decent selection of old stuff. \_ UCS: evil. |

1/11 A New Year and time to finally clean up my place. Am looking for suggestions for one of those storage places North Oakland area. Rent a space for $20-40/month??? Any tips/suggestions? Price? what to look for? 24-hour access? Also looking for suggestions on plastic boxes to store stuff in (books, clothes, junk). I am thinking of using something semi-waterproof in case the storage room gets wet. At least something better than old empty xerox-paper cardboard boxes \_ If you're going to the trouble of cleaning up, why would you keep the stuff and even worse pay to store it? What are the odds you'll *ever* look at any of it ever again? |
