10/25 Anyone know where I can find a user manual on the Brief text editor?
hard to search on the word 'brief' on google. :(

                              \_ get clue

                              \_ thanks psb, you rock
\_ It appears that the answer to every text editor
                   question is "emacs...."
                   \- ^text editor^

10/25 Democrat dies is a plane crash off setting the Rep/Dem balance of
        power. The republicans did it.
\_ Yeah, the Dems have 3 dead people running in this election--
Wellstone, the senator in Hawaii, and Toricelli (oh wait, he just
           sucked.)
\_ that Democractic missouri candidate died too and won. Ashcroft
              lost that race.

10/25 Is the economy really that bad? Young people want to know.
Not really. The run from 93-2000 was the greatest economic
expansion ever. Anyone who got used to that is way off of
the historical norms. Right now is slightly worse than the
recession of 90-92, but not by much. Expect at least another
6 months of pain in the software market, maybe slightly more
        in hardware.
\_ just got a job, cmlee?
\_ huh? who are you? i've turned into a vc now.
                   \_ With whose money?
                      \_ yermoms of course
                         \_ More likely his moms.

10/25 When I hit <DEAD>localhost:1214<DEAD> (Kazaa port) it works ok. But
when I go to <DEAD>:1214/ it no longer works. Whys that?
        \_ What IP?
\_ Is the kazaa server listening on <ip>:1214? You can check
           with netstat or something.
        \_ Packet filter/personal firewall?

10/25 is there some sourceforge project that integrates
a mailing list, file sharing capabilities, member
profiles, etc... basically i'm looking for a replacement
for a yahoogroups type mailing list.
\- gnu mailman is somewhat extensible. --psb
\_ Emacs has this, M-x set yahoo-replacement mode on

10/25 There should be a recall on browsers that implement style sheets
incorrectly like Netscape 4.x. It's hampering progress.
\_ A recall? It's the client side. If they don't like the broken
           page they'll upgrade.
