8/28 Anybody tried rogaine? How does it work, and how well does it
work? How much does it cost?
\_ In case this is a serious questions and not a random troll...
I'm going to suggest something that doesn't cost you anything,
in fact it might even save you money. I'm not getting bald, I have
a full set of hair. I've noticed that I have MORE hair
than before and my hair is growing faster and is shinier/healthier.
The secret: good nutrition. I don't eat processed foods and I
rarely eat out at restaurants. If I do eat out it's at salad
places like Fresh Choice. If you cook and eat from fresh ingredient
everyday, you will improve your health and might just stop the
hair loss. Again, this costs you nothing except the time it takes
to prepare and cook your food. It's definitely worth it if it
           can stop your hair loss.
\_ I bet those scientists who believe in a genetic basis
to baldness are the same ones who believe in global
                   warming. -tom
\_ If you're Jewish, the yarlmulka provides a much cheaper solution.
\_ just shave your head and be done with it.
\_ or you could get a reverse-mohawk like the Harkonens in
David Lynch's Dune movie. if only someone could get that
              to be fashionable.
           \_ Amen, brother. -mice
\_ What can the sisters do?
\_ My dad says that it kept the peachfuzz on top of his head from
           disappearing.
\_ Doesn't seem to help my receding hairline. Not too surprising,
since that is not what it is indicated for, but I figured I
           would try anyway.
\_ Don't let any drip down your forehead. Unless you want peach
           fuzz in novel places.
\_ taking propecia, never touched rogaine. hairloss stopped. i'm
not seeing my hairline restored but it's not losing ground either.
my doc says that using both works even better if youre really
serious about it but i havent tried.
\_ I guess this day was going to come sooner or later. Motd trollers
getting older and asking this type of questions. In a few years,
we'll be talking about getting that "procedure" done or which
doctor is good for coronary bypass surgeries.

8/28 has this labor union strike affected anyone here directly?
\_ Yes, too much noise at all major campus entrypoints, have to walk
elsewhere to have a conversation at normal volume.

8/29 Anyone remembers when Netscape Communicator 4.8 was first released?
        Thanks.
\_ Why does Netscape keep on releasing newer 4.x versions when there
\_ Why does Netscape keep on releasing newer 4.x versions when they
           are already doing 6.x versions?
           \_ And now 7.x
        \_ google "netscape release history"
\_ Does AOL profit from Netscape browser now that it's free?
\_ If it hurts MS it profits AOL.

8/29 http://ugrad.csua.berkeley.edu/~chialea/pirate.html
For I am a pirate king...
\_ This is not even good enough to be motd fodder. Who poasted this?
\_ "Poasted"? You're not good enough to be motd fodder...
\_ Yes because typo flames are always better than content
                   flames.
\_ It's the motd. Yermom responses are better than
everything else. Except maybe running prices on 3D
                      video cards.
\_ or prices on yer mom
\_ probably, but the original link is still a waste
of bits. maybe if it were funny in some way.
\_ FYI, i typed posted on purpose... to see if it would generate
a response. 5 layers deep... not bad!
                \_ liar. next!

8/29 Am I cruel? I ordered two wireless PC cards and a wireless router
from Amazon and took advantage of their free shipping for purchases
above $50 and had it shipped in two instead of one package.
Now they've lowered it to free shipping for $25 or above.
If it ever gets down to like $1...
\_ By increasing their costs, you are just making it less likely
           for them to do so.
\_ Cruel? No. You can't be cruel to a company. It's a company, duh.
Stupid, though, yes, as the above reply makes clear.
\_ That doesn't mean you cannot taunt the company and laugh at
              it's collective stupidity. That's okay.
              \_ "it's"? watch those apostrophes...
\_ Taunt? Get over it. They don't care. It's a tiny box in
                 a spreadsheet somewhere.
                 \_ but, but...nweaver says so!
\_ oh yeah... ok in the future ill be sure to abuse various
company policies which benefit me as a consumer so
they'll stop all consumer beneficial activity and just
screw everyone as much as possible. im all for that.
\_ You probably voated for Larouche, too.

8/29 Is there a website that tells you the elevation above sea-level
of all the cities in the US (at least the major ones)?
\_ No. I have encrypted all of my copywritted material
using an encryption algorithm based on US city elevation data,
and releasing it now would be in violation of the DMCA.
If you try to download that information from the web, I'll
           DOS your server. -GIAA
\_ Uh, Yeah, the first link from the google query:
"us major cities elevation above sea level" -googled

8/29 Has anyone tried DMA? Does it really work? I'm afraid to use it for
the same reason why I don't click on "unsubscribe me" from spams.
\_ Yes it works. Both for mail and phone-based junk. It works best if
you also request that the credit agencies not release your info as
well and you foregoe mail forwarding when you move.
\_ Those work very well for me, together with calling up companies
to cancel junk catalogs under whoever's names and my address.
              --yuen
\_ Direct memory access? I love it. Great stuff. Works great and
less filling at the same time! Better than rogaine
\_ No but I've tried MDA. Is DMA some other analogue?
\_ Direct Marketing Association, Inc. http://www.the-dma.org
The posters are talking about DMA's Mail Preference Service which
              helps you stop junk mail.
helps you stop junk mail. Saves time and trees.

\_ Well, it says "Powered by Google" when I search
                    from http://www.yahoo.com so I'm guessing it's probably
                    Google.

8/29 Do you guys have a different password for every single account you
own -- email, website, server, bank, etc?
        \_ Yes.
\_ I have tiers of security-- like very secure, medium, and not at all
secure. Usually as I retire my very secure passwords, I move them
down to the lower tiers... except for the lowest level, which is
almost always just based on my name or something.
\_ I do this too. I wonder how commmon it is.
\_ How do you remember all the passwords? I have like 10 passwords
for maybe 30 accounts. I can never remember which to use for
what, except for the accounts I use daily.
\_ I use the same password for all my accounts, home, work, root,
hotmail, http://yermom.com pr0n sites, my secret password with Visa, my
           home security company, everything.
\_ Have you been to http://yermom.com? What a fucking stupid website!
