10/13 I remeber seeing a saved page somwehere of a class of first
graders being sold on eBay. It was kind of sick yet funny.
Anyone have a link? This reminded me of it:
2000/10/14-16 [Science/GlobalWarming] UID:19482 Activity:kinda low
10/14 who really stands to gain from violence in the mid east, especially
violence that gets americans angry and paranoid? average arabs and
jews? average americans? no way. the oil companies. who paid the
terrorists to bomb a u.s. boat? the oil companies. go to your
local gas station and think about who in the world is acutulaly beni-
fiting from violence in the mideast.
\_ politics is not a game of rationality. the area is emotionally
charged. if the above is a plea, it's not much more profound than
"can't we all just get along?" -ali
\_ So why can't your people just get along?
              \_ I hope this isn't a serious question
\_ because it's too hot and not humid enough there. -ali
\_ But at least you never have to worry about mildew
                   in the bathroom.
2000/10/14-16 [Computer/SW/OS/Windows] UID:19483 Activity:moderate
10/14 is there a way to make Windows 2000 minimize all
windows on startup since I hate having all my
previous open folders pop up when I restart
\_ why don't you just close all your folders when you shut down,
or am I missing something here?
\_ Don't reboot. Oh, oops, this is Windows we're talking about.
\_ Witty. Not. Actually, Win2K has yet to crash on me. It's
at least infinitely more stable than 98/ME/NT in my exp.
              \_ Hmmm. . . Inf * 0 yields. . . NaN
                 \_ lol! lol!
\_ Windows Key + M will do it all quickly, if that helps.
\_ I thought that's the default? That's the way my office desktop is.
2000/10/14-16 [Politics/Foreign/MiddleEast, Academia/Berkeley/CSUA/Motd] UID:19484 Activity:nil
10/14 You know what, there is some MOTD in the Middle East somewhere,
where they are saying the exact same things, but about the USA.
\_ I doubt it. "some MOTD" = message board / chat
