11/3 John Glenn returns from space in six days. You have six days to buy a monkey suit and bury the Statue of Liberty up to her head. Does that mean Heston will say " Keep your paws off of me you damn dirty liberal " ? |

11/3 I've heard a lot of conflicting views about intel as a workplace. some people told me it was a horrible place to intern/coop and some said it was pretty awesome. Anyone have any experience? I'm being offered a 6 month at logic verifcation (don't know what that is). \_ Well, I'm not sure about the details, but I imagine it means cranking through layout to compare against verilog-type information. All I can say is that I've been at Intel for almost 18 months and it's great. I'm designing and implementing \_ Well, I'm not sure about the details, but I imagine it mean - emarkp \_ Never work at a place where they sign their email with "Have a cranking through layout to compare against verilog-typ information. All I can say is that I've been at Intel fo this should answer your questions. -jor \_ I've had the same experience with hearing great/unhappy stories about Intel internships/full-time. It seems that it depends almost 18 months and it's great. I'm designing and implementin \_ When I interned back in 96, I thought it was the world's most uptight company that I had ever worked for. When I porn surfed, I CAD algorithms. Pretty nifty stuff. Plus I go home at 5pm was actually "tagged" and warned. However, the learning experience was great. I would definitely go back. It's an uptight company, but it's a wonderful uptight company. was great. I masturbate chronically now and would definitely go back. It's an uptight company, but it's a wonderful - emark - emarkp \_ Depends on you. Intel prides itself on being inflexible. Considering the high-tech field, inflexibility doesn't go over well with most. But really does depend on your group. In general no flex time(ie 8a-12p then 1p to 5p). In my group you are expected to work minimum 8hrs with 9 to 10hrs being average(8a-7p). Pay is generally below avg. but if Intel does well the bonuses will more than compensate. In general, an anal company. For example, they search you when you leave the building. summarizing, you might co-op somewhere where you'd want to work later. Unless you don't mind strict policies, and a military like environment, Intel's probably not it. People only join Intel out of college... almost never from other companies. This speaks for itself. \_ I don't get it -- you don't seem to like it there, but you umm -- haven't quit yet? I don't get it. Please explain. \_ a lot of old-timers have stock options that make it hard for them to leave. \_ The writer probably isn't 35 yet. Intel will make sure to oust him before then. \_learn to format at 80 columns. \_ Never work at a place where they sign their email with "Have productive day" \_ http://www.igc.org/faceintel this should answer your questions. -jo \_ I've had the same experience with hearing great/unhappy storie about Intel internships/full-time. It seems that it depend on a) your division, and b) the managing group \_ When I interned back in 96, I thought it was the world's mos uptight company that I had ever worked for. 11/4 What is this world coming to? Jesse "The Body" Ventura, former pro wrestler and co-star of Predator, wins a 3-way race for governor in Minnesota. \_ How could you miss with this campaign slogan: "Vote for me or I'll kill you." \_ i'm so proud to be a minnesotan! -- a proud minnesotan \_ Hell, I'm just glad new yorkers finally came to their senses gave D'Amato the boot. \_ What's wrong with Jesse? As if a so-called professional politician is any better? What this world is starting to come to is a United States where the people are tired of the two party demopublicans. I see Jesse as a vote against the republicrats. I see nothing wrong with electing such a man to a governorship. \_ And no one criticized Ronald Regan (an x-movie star) for being predident. Although, I don't think what he did to our national debt was such a great thing either. \_ Might point out that Reagan was once governor of this wonderful state, so there's even precident for the star becoming governor of a state. And Reagan's term as gov. is debatable on effectiveness. \_ Reagan fired Clark Kerr, widely regarded as one of the best University leaders this century. \_Incorrect. It was Edmund G. "Pat" Brown who fired Clark Kerr, over the Free Speech Movement. Reagan was more notorious for calling out the national guard on Berkeley and gassing Sproul Plaza, after Berkeley profs told him not to do it. Interesting note, Reagan was partially elected because he promised to "clean up that mess in Berkeley." \_ The highway patrol make good secret police \_ BLAIN ...bunch of slack-jawed faggots around here... (holds up plug) ...this stuff will put hair guaranteed... (chewing) ...make you a God-damned sexual ty-ran-toe-sore-ass... just like me. -Jesse "the Body" Ventura in "predator" |

11/3 Don't forget to vote today. --tabloy \_ For a dissenting view, hear Friedman (166 Barrows, 7p). -- schoe \_ people are too stupid for this sort of thing to work \_ Maybe this thing is just too stupid to work \_ looking at the results, this state is going to suck!!! Time to move.. \_ what did you expect? 2 people who didn't deserv to be governers and 2 more people who don't deserv to be senators. Fong, Lungren, Davis, Boxer all stink \_ Someone actually asked Friedman whether people had to b smart for anarchocapitalism to work. He suggested tha the "natural conservatism" of people meant that peopl \_ I'm going to take out five seconds to laugh m ass off at this "human nature" argument would likely become accustomed to it and its institution once it was established, whether or not they wer particularly intelligent.
