12/22   What does the biod program do?
        \_ Why don't you RTFM?  from TFM:
            Biod starts nservers asynchronous block I/O daemons.  This
            command is used on a NFS client to handle buffer cache
            read-ahead and write-behind.

          understand enough for any explanation to be
          at all meaningful.  Go read some Intro to Unix books
          and then maybe you can try reading the O'Reilly NFS
          book.  Or just wallow in your ignorance -- we can't
          spoonfeed all that into you through the motd.
