5/24 A 'reasonably fast' OCF machine? Are the rumours that there is one true?
\_ We just got a new 68040 and we're still waiting for our big IBM
machine. Of course mailing staff@ocf would get you more
         reliable info than soda's motd.
\_ That is not true. There is no more reliable source
of information than the soda motd.

5/23 Anyone looking for a place in San Jose this summer and beyond?
If so, contact jules@soda. Leave a message at 510-649-1208 ASAP.
I may already be settled by tomorrow.
\_ I might need it but not 100% sure yet. When do you need answer?

5/23 Does anyone know what VMS is? / Why any school would want use it?
\_ Isn't there a VMS instruction on the VAX-11? Remind me
if I'm wrong, but did they remove the UNIX opcode? -ali
\_ Oh, and VMS is a VAX operating system. -ali
\_ Could be worse... it could be MVS...
\_ How can one not know what a VMS is?! H0ZERS!
\_ There are some nice features in VMS. But then, the only VMS
command I regularly use is "telnet" - alanc
        \_ Go CMS!!!!

5/23 It seems that C&S have an account now at CRL. This brings them
into the CSUA web of influence and control. wheeee
        \_ What's C&S? \_ Preemptive "Get a clue" included here.
\_ But no more netcom for them! Doesn't matter: no water ads yet
        \_ Get a Q, not a Qlue... C&S = Canter and Siegel, assholes
\_ Hmm...Green cards must not be profitable these days for them to
go into the thigh cream industry (:
\_ the CRL admins know about them, and WILL squish them when/if they
           step out of line.
\_ I believe they should be preemptively squished. BTW, what is
the CSUA <-> CRL connection? Also, where does NAMBLA and the
              Trilateral Commission fit in? -gojomo

5/23 rc and rx removed from /usr/local/bin. If you use it, tough. Try
        zmodem or kermit instead. -hob
\-coincidentally, /usr/local/bin/rc installed. this is a lean and mean
shell which is destined to be the "sh" for plan 9. it's really the
shell for purists and snobs. clean and swift and small and simple --psb
\_ Why the fuck was it removed?
\_ It was being used for Communist infiltration. Deal.

5/22 Congratulations to our graduates: dpassage, seidl, and pld
\-I would like to extend my congratulations as well, but I feel
this does not belong in the motd.official. Other CSUA members also
happen to have graduated and it just smacks of some kind of exclusivity
to stick congrats to some in the official motd. anyone who wants to
congratulate anyone else can add something to the motd.public. --psb
\-congrats to vctoria and sc too, even if they are not "ours" --psb
\_ don't forget amee, even if she is graduating from
            a lame school
          \_ don't forget cgd either!!
           \_ Ignore != forget
\_congrats to myself too, for surviving another f'ing semester -lars
\_Congratulations to our graduates: dpassage, seidl, and pld
